When Stars Fall into the River
I wrote the lyrics when just landed in NYC, reflecting on my confusions about path and future journey. I am very grateful to have completed this song and to bring it forth.
Stars of the sky have faded
Fret not, child, just go to sleep
An embrace from mother
Is a dream built by a child
Stars of the sky have dimmed
Fret not, child
For mother is here
Even though mother isn’t here
Listen, boundless light from the moon
Listen, breathless quiet of city
Listen, morrow’s hazy sunlight
There’s hope in life
Stars of the sky have ebbed
Fret not, child
Close your eyes, wearied child
Steadily, a swallow she become
Blue Scar
"Blue Scar" is a Single of two songs I composed and mixed in an attempt to capture the possible consequences of water-related environmental crises. With the two songs, I aspire to inspire my audience to emphasize with the music content and have the basic-level emotional understanding toward the severity of the problems.

Gentle, ethereal, and sad. "Withering Land", as how it's titled, talks about rising sea level. While it serves as a reflection on this pressing issue, it also carries a sense of nostalgia, as I contemplate the future loss of beloved coastal areas that hold special meaning to me. The song possesses a captivating quality that lends itself to being looped, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in its evocative content.
With an accent on the more eerie side of my music, "Thirst in the Waves" addresses the issue of water scarcity by illustrating a world dominated by arid deserts and an acidic ocean. Contrasting with "Withering Land," this piece delves into a more experimental and cinematic style, evoking the ambiance of film scores. To enhance its theme, I generated a string of sounds by MaxMsp, utilizing data on global fresh water consumption. The bubbling sound effect mimics the sensation of breathing underwater and serves as a forewarning of impending suffocation. Furthermore, the volume of the bubbling sound increases in correlation with the rise in the source data.

Withering Land
“我 从没有 料到 月亮 与硬币 之间
I never thought, between the moon and the sixpence
It is our hometown that first died
I never thought, between dawn and dusk
It is our ocean that first ascend
Under the ever-falling sky
Only the tide, grazing the land
Eight-thousand-year past is kneaded into a river
That ever-changing (under the sky)
That eternal glittering, one blinking eye
The salvaged hope, is an entitlement
Only existing on the chattering lips
The broken promise, is an indifference
Decades later, only waves hitting the land
Under the ever-falling sky
Only the tide, grazing the land

Thirst In the Waves
“我们的生命流逝 却不再感受
Our fleeting life,
Feeling no longer.
Masking shield was chosen
(Gracefully airy eyes)
Lips that thirst no more
Only craving blood
Moongazing, it’s blatantly immodest
It never came back
It never came back
Flocked to the horizon
Sand as water, shrouded the mouth of spring”
Rendezvous
“Rendezvous” refers to a meeting at an agreed time and place, typically between two people
The irony lies at, while the in the lyrics the singer is akinsg the other person to come only at their convenience, she also speaks contrary to her thought.
“Dear I’m so bored
All day long
So if you have time
just visit me at the store
Dear I’m just bored
Dear I’m just so bored
So if you have time
just visit me at the store
...I, I, I will find you
...I, I, I will find you”

Sigh of the Wave
“Sigh of the Wave” was one of the first Singles that I composed. Albeit a more of naive and intuitive approach to song writing, I still find it fascinating to look back at them especially this one song “Sigh of Wave”. It originates from the book “Grendel” by John Gardener.
In the book, the Queen hummed a sad monologue to one of her children, an adopted member of the family. I was deeply touched by this tune, imagined how it actually would sound like in a musical, and composed this “Sigh of Wave”.
Dream of Spring
春夢 / Dream of Spring is the soundtrack composed for film of the same name. The music and the film together explore a female’s experience of sensuality, and carry the layer of subverting the connotation of the phrase “wet dream” in western contexts.
Music-wise it was interesting on working of something standing in the intersection of Eastern Asia / Futurism / Feminism. For it’s an existing topic but not many expressed it yet. It was fascinating to think of how to express the view via music.

Live Code GPT
I built a GPT for answering Music Live Coding and Synth relevant questions. You can access the bot here
Currently Content List covers a variety of music live coding tools and software synthesizers. Depending on the needs I will gradually add in more features or create a new bot. At the current phase, the conversations will be saved to the back end and I will tweak the GPT accordingly.
W411
Th W4ll is a MaxMsp endeavor that MC (yes, another MC) and I collaborated on. I approached MC to embark on this venture after conceiving the idea of creating an interactive object that metaphorically represents post-pandemic communication between individuals, I approached MC to collaborate on this venture.
With a focus on sound design, I delved into designing the auditory aspects, while MC took charge of the visual reactions. The name "W411" abstracts the physical installation, signifying that it embodies more than a singular concept. We intentionally chose this name to encourage audience interpretation. In the accompanying video, you will witness unique visual and auditory responses triggered by my method of interaction with the wall, each time delivering a distinct outcome.
